About AI Safety Awareness Project

AI Safety Awareness Project (AISAP) helps everyday people understand the risks of advanced AI—so they can meaningfully participate in shaping how it’s governed.

We run workshops across the U.S. for public and civic audiences like librarians, law enforcement, religious organizations, and community groups.

We are explicitly bi-partisan and work with organizations and individuals across the political spectrum and from all walks of life.

Knowledge → Opinion → Voice

We equip people with the context they need to form their own views on AI risk and take those views into conversations, institutions, and decision-making processes. We aim to make communities more proactive about AI—not reactive.

Our Workshops

Our team

We’re a small, fast-moving remote team (4 full-time, 2 part-time). We operate with a startup mindset and focus on work that gets real societal attention on AI safety.

About the Role

We’re hiring a part-time, fully-remote Operations Associate. The Operations Associate will primarily support workshop promotion and logistics. This role is critical to making sure our workshops actually reach people and run smoothly. If we succeed, more communities across the country will meaningfully engage with AI risk.

What You’ll Do

Event promotion and audience-building:

Identify relevant local groups (meetups, associations, community orgs) near upcoming workshops. Conduct outreach to invite participation and drive registrations. Follow up consistently to maximize turnout. Improve messaging and targeting over time based on results

This is high-volume, iterative outreach work. Success comes from persistence and learning what works.
